A typical AWANA evening consists of Bible teaching, memorization, physical activities stressing Christian values and sportsmanship, and just plain good old fashion FUN for kids and leaders. Children work through their books at home memorizing the scripture passages and then come to club on Wednesday nights to recite what they have learned. Clubbers receive various awards, incentives, and prizes for progressing through the material.
A quick look at the age-graded programs:
Sparks: K-2nd graders enjoy rotating through three different areas: games, storytime, and handbook time. Kids will enjoy learning about the big story of the Bible through the course of the year.
Truth and Training: Teaches 3rd-6th graders that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Like the Sparks, they rotate through games, storytime and handbook time.
