Men's Ministry

The mission of the Men’s Ministry Team is to develop and mature strong Christian leaders. We seek to accomplish this mission by building relationships with one another through Bible studies, fellowship outings, mentoring, and other activities. It is through these activities and others that we can encourage and support each other. We believe that standing together is biblical and practical (Luke 10.1). We invite you to become a part of the Men’s Ministry at South Canyon Baptist Church.

Men's Retreat

Sign up NOW for the mens' retreat. It will be held Friday evening and Saturday morning January 23 and 24 at Cedar Canyon Camp off Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City. You may spend the night or just come to the sessions. A sign-up sheet is at the welcome center, and you can call Roy England with questions.

Wild Game Feed

The Men's Team is putting on a wild game feed on Sunday, January 11, immediately following the morning worship service. Come and enjoy some wonderful food! If you would like to help by providing a dish, please contact Roy England, sign up at the welcome center, or contact the church.

Tuesday Bible Study

A group of men meet Tuesday mornings at 6:30 at Java Junkie for "caffeinated Bible study and fellowship." You bring your Bible, and the Men's Team provides a bottomless cup of coffee.

Sports

  • Basketball: Every Tuesday night at 6:30, a group of men gather in the fellowship hall at the church to play basketball (full-court). Abilities vary and newcomers are always welcome.

  • Softball: Late spring signals the time for church-league softball, and South Canyon always organizes a team. The participation fee is usually around $30 per person, but the Men's Team is able to sponsor any individual who cannot afford it. Keep your ears peeled in March for the sign-up call!

Newsletter

The men issue a periodical newsletter on matters of faith. If you are interested in contributing an article, please contact the church office, which will put you in touch with the current men's ministry team leader.
